The Huntsville Dive Association is an organization that promotes the sport of (aquatic) diving and supporting sports in and around the Huntsville area.

​

In this program we work to develop younger and older athletes in the sport of springboard diving. HDA strives to give each diver the opportunity and knowledge needed to dive at the junior or masters level. Athletes will be engaging in dry land training, on board instruction, and poolside instruction to gain the knowledge needed to excel in the Sport of Springboard Diving. We offer three different programs GOLD, SILVER, and MASTERS diving.

 

Our Mission is to offer an amateur springboard diving program through a volunteer base and specialized coaching for all people to have the physical, mental and moral development of amateur athletes and to promote good sportsmanship and good citizenship. 

 

Our Vision is to offer amateur athletes and volunteers opportunities to develop to their highest level through a national and local network of Springboard Diving Events. Through participation in HDA and the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) and USA Diving events, we achieve our dreams as athletes and as valued citizens of our communities.

 

Our goals:

1. To cooperate with other diving organizations in our area,

2. To educate the local population about the sport (through diving & outreach) and

3. To communicate with others about the nature and merits of diving.

 

WHAT WE DO

We advance diving by attracting more athletes to the sport as well as improving the quality, capacity, and variety of instruction and facilities.

Through our year around program, we supplement activities available in high school dive teams and summer league activities. During seasons when other programs are inactive we provide continuity of diving opportunities to maintain and further develop skills of current divers. We also foster beginners in the sport.

HOW WE DO IT

HDA is a club within the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). HDA members have full benefits offered by the AAU. Coaches, the board, as well as divers are all AAU members. Our program is progressive and structured for all skill levels.

WHY WE DO IT

We love diving and want to share that affection with others. We want our athletes to dive safely, enjoy the sport, and become very, very, very good divers – to reach their full potential!
